  • Best forSecure storage, warehouses & data centers
  • Your choicesWoven mesh, doors, locks, finish & ceilings

How MaxGuard Partitions Are Built

MaxGuard uses steel channel around the mesh panel perimeter. Panels connect to adjoining panels or supporting posts, with hinged doors and sliding gates providing access. Standard Duty and Heavy Duty use different channel sections and standard mesh, which are compared below.

Start with the enclosure dimensions and what needs to move through each opening. Check the specified duty level, mesh, panel height, lock function, and finish. If you need a ceiling, a tall run, or an extension to an existing cage, include those details on the plan so we can review the support and connections.

Plain-language guide to the dimensions

Gauge: A wire or sheet-thickness designation. A smaller gauge number generally means heavier material, but the applicable material standard matters.

Opening: The mesh spacing, expressed as a square, rectangle, or diamond. Confirm whether the specified size is nominal, clear, or center-to-center.

Channel frame: A formed steel profile that receives and protects the edge of the mesh panel.

Sweep: The intended open space between the finished floor and the bottom of the partition panel.

Clear opening: The usable passage through a door or gate after framing and hardware are installed.

Roof-over: Framed wire mesh panels that close the top of the enclosure and require a coordinated support plan.

Designed around the required duty level

Protected Mesh Edges And A Channel-Framed Appearance

MaxGuard panels are built by placing selected woven wire mesh within steel channel framing and securing the assembly into a rigid panel. The finished panels connect directly to adjoining panels or to project-specific posts, then combine with hinged doors, sliding gates, locks, top capping, and optional ceilings.

MaxGuard Series Standard Duty (formerly Type 120). Use the MaxGuard Series Standard Duty name when requesting current product information, specifications, or a quote.

Standard Duty uses the smaller channel frame for storage cages and other secure enclosures. Heavy Duty increases the channel size and normally pairs it with 6-gauge, 2-inch diamond woven wire for demanding security and traffic conditions.
